Attention fans of Lee's Toy Review and Lee's Toy Review subscribers!
Owing to the fact that our main newsstand distributor recently changed its tie lines, the publisher of Lee's Toy Review, Lee Publications, was required to change the ship date of the magazine. This means that all current subscribers to Lee's Toy Review will receive Issue #195 toward the end of January instead of the middle of the month. Issue #195 will display the month of February on its cover. The next available issue at newsstand will be Issue #195, available on newsstands in the first week of February.

It’s the series of figures that launched the 3.75” G.I. Joe phenomenon back in 1982. What the first nine figures lacked in articulation they make up for in “bang for your buck” 25 years later. After all, it’s this initial character release that featured the now infamous “straight arm” figures before Hasbro retooled the figures to include the “swivel arm” battle grip. So not only do you have a series that kicked off a line that spanned 12 years, but the original versions each feature that key design flaw that affected every figure that followed it. It’s no wonder prices for figures that are on dead-mint, unquenched cards with clear blisters are fetching such record numbers on the secondary market. Confirmed AFA graded prices on the original nine-back G.I. Joe figures with straight arms are as follows:

The "All Stars" red Semi Fast II is being found with a transition variation. The red Semi Fast II has a silver grill and silver smokestacks. The new purple Semi Fast II has a gray grill and gray smokestacks. Some people have been finding the red Semi Fast II with the gray grill and stacks, but it seems to be a short card only variation at this point.
