Lee’s Toy Review #142/August 2004
Star Wars Imperial Stormtrooper cover

This month’s August issue #142 kicks off the San Diego Comic Con. What’s new, what’s cool, what’s hot, and what’s not? It’s all revealed in the August issue #142 of Lee’s Toy Review, hitting newsstands as you read this. Among the figures on display at the Convention was Hasbro’s Star Wars Unleashed Series, including Stormtrooper and IG-88. Coverage of other products exclusive to the Con includes Art Asylum’s Mini-Mates, McFarlane’s Movie Maniacs Series 7, Sideshow Collectible’s Buffy, LOTR, Hellboy, and more. Because this issue was put together before the SDCC, we will revisit this topic with a more in-depth report in next month’s issue. Also featured in issue #142 is coverage of the G.I. Joe Show and the Megocon events. Get a chance to catch-up if you missed these exhibitions. This issue also reveals the secret to success for Palisades Toys in a one-on-one interview with President and CEO Michael Horn.

As always, the DMV section features the coolest Hot Wheels, from new releases to customized vehicles, and even variations and errors. The newest Johnny Lightning assortments, including Street Freaks Release 9, Holiday Classics, and Universal Monsters are just waiting for you to discover. Jada’s new 1:18-scale H2, the latest Corgi Batcollectibles, and Dragon’s Warbirds are also included in this month’s DMV section.

Regular monthly appearances are also featured, including Action Review and DMV Mechanics, as well as G.I. Joe Files, Transformers File, Inve$tmentary, i-News, and Price Guide News. You’ll be sure to find accurate information in our detailed price guide; from action figures to die-cast cars, we list them all.

PLUS
Our monthly pull-out guide for August features Lee’s Guide to Star Wars from 2003 to present. Take a look-see at items you might be missing from the Saga Collection, Silver Anniversary, Unleashed, Star Tours, Clone Wars, Clone Wars Animated, and Original Trilogy Collection.

All this and much more is waiting to be read in yet another solid issue of Lee’s Toy Review.
