Back on May 25, 2008, Marco Andretti drove an Indiana Jones themed Andretti Green Racing IndyCar at the 92nd Running of the Indianapolis 500. Marco returns to the glamour of Hollywood for a second time at the Peak Antifreeze & Motor Oil Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma on August 24, 2008 – this time behind the wheel of a Star Wars: “The Clone Wars” IndyCar. Andretti Green Racing, Blockbuster Inc and Lucasfilm Ltd are collaborating for the second time in 2008, this time in support of the highly anticipated Star Wars: “The Clone Wars” animated feature from Lucasfilm. Marco's #26 IndyCar will feature a promotional design during the Grand Prix of Sonoma to assist in the marketing and promotion of the major film release, and for the second time, die-cast model cars are a part of the program. GreenLight will be producing 1:18 (Approx. 11” long) and 1:64 (Approx. 3” long) scale die-cast replicas of the Marco Andretti/ Star Wars: “The Clone Wars” IndyCar for Holiday 2008 release. These die-cast cars will be available to the general public through www.starwarsshop.com (currently accepting pre-orders), www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com, and through a variety of trackside vendors at future IndyCar Series events. Only a limited number of each scale will be available. |
