1966 Live Action TV Series Batmobile
Written by James Tomlinson
Friday, 28 November 2008

When you think of vehicles, you don't normally think of it being "sculpted,"
at least not like an action figure would be sculpted -- but they are.

This one was sculpted by Jack Mathews, based directly on the 1966
TV Series Batmobile designed by the one and only George Barris.

One of the most famous cars ever designed, this finely sculpted,
hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain (bet you thought it was going to be die-cast!),
battery-operated, light-up Batmobile is a replica of Batman's ride from the
hugely popular 1966 live-action Batman TV show.  It almost goes
without saying that this Bat-replica is the perfect holiday gift for all
seasoned TV Batman fans.  And, well, anybody who was watching it
back in the '60s, like the editors of Lee's Toy Review, certainly qualify
as seasoned.

How much is it going to cost you?  $ 250.00.   When will it first be available?
December 10 - THIS December. Where?  Your Diamond Previews-affiliated
comic shop or specialty store.  Where is that?  Hit the CSLS button on the right
side of the page and find out.

Quote of the day

Robin: "Picked up the seal pulsator yet, Batman?"
Batman: "We're still over land, Robin, and a seal is an aquatic, marine mammal."
Robin: "Gosh, yes, Batman, I forgot."
