This Mattel 2-pack is based on episode #1 of of Batman: The Brave

and the Bold, "Rise of the Blue Beetle."

In this episode, Batman goes into outer space, partnered with the

Blue Beetle on the latter's special project of saving a race of

amoeba-looking aliens beset by even scarier ones. 

The figures in this two-pack are super-stylized and look basically

nothing like anything we've seen in the trailer from that episode. 

Maybe it's not even based on this episode?  But hey, we collect

Batman, so whatever.  Besides, how often do we have Batman

battling badguys in outer space?  The Batman-Outerspace Sci-Fi

juxtaposition is kinda interesting if not completely out of this world bizarre. 

It's enough to pique our interest collectible-wise, so here you go.
