We have a couple of important corrections from the current issue of Lee's Toy Review, October, No. 192. This regards information we published about Star Wars toys from Hasbro. Apparently we were not completely clear about a couple of things.
Per Hasbro's Public Relations firm, Hunter Public Relations, "The Force Unleashed Stormtrooper Commander was never planned for the
mainline and then dropped – as TR (sic) reported. The figure was developed as
a request from Lucasfilm as a special promotional figure for LucasArts
in conjunction with the release of the TFU game. As a result, it was
released to GameStop in the U.S."
We'll have a photo of this posted here later tonight or tomorrow.
Also per Hunter PR, "The Millennium Falcon has had reports of it being sold for $35, but
this was in a limited number of Wal-Mart stores that were changing
format necessitating that they purge inventory. This was not a
systematic price cut as TR seemingly reports was happening. Any other
promotional discounts are the result of retailers picking the
Millennium Falcon as a hot pick and worthy of promotional pricing."
