Art imitating Life

It's the Man of Steel loved by a generation of film-goers -- as sculpted by the talented Karen Palinko.
One of the most admirable depictions of Superman is now available as a commemorative statue exclusively from DC Direct. In the likeness of real-life hero, Christopher Reeve, this statue strikes an iconic pose from the classic 1978 feature film Superman – the movie that made the world believe "a man could fly" and turned the actor into a major movie star and a household name.

Standing atop an S-shield base, the Christopher Reeve as Superman Statue is a limited-edition, hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain statue measuring approximately 12.50" tall x 5.5" wide x 3.75" deep. (The base measures approximately .75" high x 6.5" diameter.)  This piece is being manufactured to order.   Look for it at comic and specialty sometime around May 27, 2009.  The MSRP on this is $195.  Serious Superman fans and admirers of Christopher Reeves' immortal portrayal won't balk.

Quote of the day

Robin: "Picked up the seal pulsator yet, Batman?"
Batman: "We're still over land, Robin, and a seal is an aquatic, marine mammal."
Robin: "Gosh, yes, Batman, I forgot."
