Ford contracts GreenLight Collectibles for a new 1:24 scale casting

Indianapolis, IN (December 9, 2010)  When a reputable car manufacturer such as Ford asks you to make a car for them, you know you are doing something right!  GreenLight was contacted by Ford earlier this year for a custom promo project, releasing this Winter 2010 GreenLight’s first 1:24 casting since Summer of 2009, a 2010 Ford Taurus SHO.  Thought the 1:24 scale has not been a frequent release, GreenLight executes the project with its prevalent attention to authentic scaled replication.

Ford is reviving the SHO name for the 2010 model year after an 11-year hiatus. Dropped in 1999 after a decade of increasingly diluted performance, the original 1989 car was a raw, sports-focused quasi-exotic with a manual-only Yamaha 3.0-liter, 220 HP V6. At the time, it was the third fastest sedan in the country. Now the engine packs an EcoBoost Twin Turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 365 bhp horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.

The 1:24 replicas will be available in factory correct paint schemes: Red Candy, Tuxedo Black and Ingot Silver.  As well as feature opening hoods, doors and trucks, detailed engines, real rubber tires, authentic wheels, metal body and chassis, detailed graphics, custom license plates and are officially licensed by Ford.  Quantities are limited for each car and will be available at GreenLight Hobby Retailers beginning in January 2010.
